VS2008, SQL2008 and Windows Server 2008 launch on Feb 27, 2008

 

Microsoft Executives Outline Next-Generation Business Opportunities for Partners With New Products, Tools and Programs: Microsoft delivers best practices for software-plus-services delivery models at its Worldwide Partner Conference 2007.

In anticipation for the most significant Microsoft enterprise event in the next year, Turner announced that Windows Server® 2008, Visual Studio® 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server™ 2008 will launch together at an event in Los Angeles on Feb. 27, 2008, kicking off hundreds of launch events around the world.

Desert Code Camp 2007 Is Coming

The votes are in -- the masses have spoken -- and it ends up that the next big Code Camp in Phoenix will be held on September 15th, 2007 at UAT. As such we have now opened up the website to accept your wildest (or even tamest) suggestions for tracks and sessions.

I will be presenting 3 sessions this Year:

  • Effective Linq with Visual Basic

    Understanding Linq, ORM and the different aspects of Linq to SQL, Linq to XML and Linq to Objects
  • Using the New Stuff in VB9

    How is Visual Studio 2008 going to change the way we develop Applications. New VB Features include LINQ, XML Literals and Properties, Anonymous (and implicilty typed local) Variables, Nullable Types, Object and Array Initializers as well as Relaxed Delegates. Lots of samples detailing each new technique detailing how it will change the way you program forever.
  • Building Transactional Applications with VB

    With Datacentric Applications and WCF, Transactions become "The ONLY Viable Programming Model". Learn how any why this assessment has come about and walk away with a FULL SOURCECODE FRAMEWORK (and the knowledge to use it) for building transactional systems with VB.
