You've probably heard of distributed computing, but what about a distributed OS?

It's Always Something (this time... Icons)

I am making a toolbar and I think to myself, Icon extraction... That would be a cool feature, should be simple to implement... 2 days later...

A slightly better Console

I always have at least one console window open, sometimes several.

cmd.exe is pretty limited in what you can do with it visually... You can't even set transparency. I recently found console.exe on sourceforge. This handy little frontend for your COMSPEC will enable some nice visual effects (including transparency) so running rolling pings or some other console app in the background seems to take less space on the desktop.

Thunderbird

I have tried several others, not to mention names, but all the top 10...
Enter Thunderbird.
